Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) national president Jayant Chaudhary has questioned Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana over the death of former cabinet minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) strongman Azam Khan as MLA. He has said that Azam Khan's membership has gone and said that why action was not taken on Vikram Saini. Jayant has also asked Satish Mahana to take immediate action in Vikram Saini's case, citing the Representation of the People Act.

Jayant Chaudhary has written a letter to Speaker Satish Mahana today (November 1). Jayant has written in his letter that taking a decision taken by your office in the case of hate speech in the Special MP-MLA Court, your activism in implementing the Representation of the People Act, which has been cancelled with immediate effect, should be praised, but when we see your inaction in a similar case that happened in the past, So the question arises. Can the law be interpreted differently in the case of different persons? 

RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary has further written that, in this context, I would like to draw your attention to the case of BJP MLA Vikram Saini from Khatauli Muzaffarnagar, who was convicted by the Special MP MLA Court for the Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013, on 11 October 2022 under the Representation of the People Act. Was sentenced to 2 years in prison. To date, no initiative has been taken from your side in that matter.
