According to East Midnapore district TMC sources, important Trinamool leaders in the district were informed from Abhishek Banerjee's office on Kaimak Street on Monday night. TMC's all-India general secretary will hold a public meeting in Kanthi on December 3. Apart from this, he is also likely to hold a meeting with Trinamool leaders of the district. According to a senior TMC leader, Abhishek Banerjee can give many instructions and suggestions regarding the upcoming panchayat elections there. After getting instructions from the high command, preparations started on a war-footing basis to organize a public meeting of the All India General Secretary in Kanthi.

Suvendu Adhikari, MLA from Nandigram, has been continuously threatening for the past few months that the state government will be paralysed. Mamata Banerjee's government will fall in December. According to experts in Bengal politics, in response to Suvendu Adhikari's attack, the TMC's all-India general secretary decided to hold this public meeting in Kanthi.
