Twenty-two people have died in the Afghan earthquake

A provincial official in Afghanistan's western province of Badghis said Tuesday that the dead toll from a magnitude 5.6 earthquake has grown to 22.

"According to our local sources, 22 people died and five others were injured due to Monday's earthquake in Qadis district, the worst-affected area," Baz Mohammad Sarwari, Badghis province's director of information and culture, told the media.
