New Delhi: The Government of India has not yet taken any decision regarding the preparation of the National Register of Indian Citizens (NRC) at the national level. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has given information in this regard in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Rai informed the Lok Sabha about this when Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mala Roy asked him about the status of implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) across the country. TMC MP Mala Roy also asked in the Lok Sabha that along with the status of NRC in Assam, by when will the work related to NRC be completed. Giving a written reply to this, the Union Minister of State for Home, Rai said that, 'The government has not yet taken any decision to prepare the National Register of Indian Citizens (NRC) at the national level.' He further said that on the directions of the Supreme Court, the supplementary list of inclusion in the NRC and the hard copy of the online family wise list of exclusion from it has been published on 31 August 2019.
