Jaipur: Well-known writer Shobhaa De has once again made headlines for her latest statement. At the ongoing Literature Festival in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Shobhaa De said that even today Indian women are forced to suppress their sexual desires. Shobha was speaking on the topic 'Stellar days, starry nights' here.

Writer Shobhaa De further said that, like other countries, Indian women are not open here, they hide their sex desires. If Indian women reveal their sex desires, they are looked at in the wrong light.' He said that if a man writes satire, he is praised, whereas if a woman does the same thing, she is abused.

Shobhaa De further said that she is not afraid of anyone and writes openly about sexuality. She said that most of the writers have always depicted women as 'victims', but she is trying to change the image of women, that is why she portrays women as hard workers and bold.
