Xbox Series X India Price Increased Once More

New Delhi: According to reports, India will once again increase the price of Xbox Series X. Game analyst Rishi Alwani claims that Microsoft's flagship next-gen console is now priced at Rs. 55,990 when it launched later this month.

The previous listing price of Series X was Rs. 52,990, which represents an increase of over 5%. This is the second price hike in four months, and the weakening value of the Indian rupee (INR) relative to the US dollar can possibly be attributed to blame (USD).

Gadgets 360 has contacted Microsoft India for comment; We will revise this article once we have any feedback. Xbox Series X is priced at Rs. 49,990 when it was released in late 2020.

The increase in prices for the Series X in India comes after Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer admitted that they would not be able to maintain the current US price of the Series X for very long.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Spencer said that "we put the [US] price, the price of the game, and our subscription on our consoles. In my opinion, we will not be able to do that indefinitely.

While I believe we will eventually need to increase some prices on some items, we felt it was important to maintain our current prices as we entered the [US] holiday season. The Series X is priced at $499 (approximately Rs 41,200) in the US before state tax.

According to reports, apart from the Series X, Microsoft is also increasing the price of the controllers in India. The Robot White and Carbon Black Xbox Wireless Controllers are now available at Rs. 5,990 each.

At the previous price of Rs. 5,690, which also represents an increase of 5 percent. Shock Blue and Electric Volt will soon be priced at Rs. 6,590 instead of Rs. 6,290 if you're interested in those color options. This represents an increase of over 4%. However, Xbox controllers are once again cheap in India.

Microsoft earlier increased the price of Xbox Series S in India to Rs. 37,990 in August, attributed to the increase in the price of the weak INR relative to the USD.

Sony dropped prices for its next-generation PS5 in August starting in the UK, Canada and Australia. The company cited the reasons for the high rate of inflation and unfavorable currency trends around the world. The PS5 and PS5 digital editions are still available in India for their original MSRPs of Rs. 49,990 and Rs. 39,990 respectively.
