Rajasthan: The Supreme Court’s hang about the notifications passed by some States who prohibited the screening of Sanjay Leela  Bhansali’s magnum opus flick Padmaavat on Thursday was the reason for stress among anti-Padmavati-league Rajputs in Rajasthan, with the Rajput outfits threatening they would not allow its exhibition. The State government also gave signs to appeal against the top court’s verdict.

Although Rajasthan was the first State to declare a ban on the release of the flick, the State government officials issued an order on Wednesday prohibiting its screening on the view of law and order situation and “in public interest”.

However, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said the State government would follow the SC’s interim order.

The Gujarat and Haryana governments stated they would revise the order before taking the next move.

However, The Karni Sena in Gujarat pleaded to keep on its protest against the film's screening as saying, “the Supreme Court had not kept people's emotions in mind while passing the order. The Rajput community would ask for the intervention of President Ram Nath Kovind in the subject, Karni Sena's national president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi said.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Thursday stated that state government would study the ruling and if there's any possibility of an appeal then it would be measured by the government.
