Patna: The Special Monitoring Unit (SVU) has tightened its grip on Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, Magadh University. According to SVU, the recovery of total cash has reached 95 lakh after a search of Dr. Rajendra's residence in Gorakhpur was recovered by Rs 25 lakh late on Wednesday night. Earlier, Rs 70 lakh was recovered from his house. Along with the rupee, foreign exchange worth Rs.5 lakhs has also been received from there.

So far, a total of One crore rupees have been received from his house. The SVU team has returned to Patna on Thursday after conducting a late-night search of the Gorakhpur residence. SVU while searching Dr. Rajendra's residence in Gorakhpur, foreign exchange worth Rs 5 lakh was also recovered. According to officials, foreign exchange includes pounds, dollars, euros, and Chinese yen. The SUV has sent information to the customs department as well as the passport office regarding the recovery of foreign exchange. Now, there can be a separate inquiry in this regard.

SVU has detected four bank accounts of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Prasad. A letter has been sent to banks to freeze all bank accounts. While documents of land found at home in Gorakhpur are also being examined. Land worth about Rs 1 crore has been purchased in recent years.
