Lucknow: A woman and 22 male prisoners have been found HIV positive in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district jail. After this, there has been an uproar in the administrative corridors. The jail administration has registered all the prisoners at the ART Centre at the district hospital and started treatment. The jail superintendent said that the family members of all the prisoners concerned will also be examined.

A few days ago, the health department conducted some tests of the inmates in the jail by setting up camps, in which HIV was also tested. The report found 23 inmates to be HIV positive. One woman and the rest are male prisoners. Let us know that earlier only six patients were found to be HIV infected in jail, due to the sudden increase in the number, the authorities are also surprised. According to the jail administration, the family members of all the infected prisoners will also be tested for HIV.

On the same issue, Senior Jail Superintendent Amita Dubey says that the prisoners are not allowed to do so. The health of the detainees was checked. HIV infection has been confirmed in some of the inmates. The number is more than 20. He said that most of these prisoners are drug addicts. At the same time, nodal officer Dr Ranveer Singh has said that HIV infection has been found in 24 prisoners. The investigation camp was held twice in five months in the jail. Their report has now come out. Their samples were taken considering the symptoms of TB and AIDS.
