The USA being one of the highly affected countries by the corona virus outbreak reports an approximate number of 700,000 children have tested positive so far for the novel corona virus from the onset of the deadly disease. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Association said that the total count of COVID-19 positive children from September 24 to October 8 was 77,073, an increase in 13% over two weeks.

A total of 697,633 pediatric Covid-19 cases have been reported in the US. The children count represent 10.7 per cent of all those infected by the virus. Among 100,000 children in the country 927 were affected by the virus. The hospitalization report says 0.9% to 3.6% of the total hospitalized were children and 0 to 0.23% of the total mortality rate is children. The report adds that detailed reports on cases, testing, hospitalizations, and mortality by age and race/ethnicity should be mentioned properly to document and monitor the effects of corona virus on children's health.

Though the severe illness due to Covid-19 appears to be rare among children the reports should be mentioned properly for futuristic prediction and action. The US still remains the world’s worst hit country with high mortality and COVID-19 positive cases. As of October 15, the total number of cases is 7,911,497 and the mortality counts to 216,734.
