Guwahati: A surprising incident has come to light in Silchar, Assam. Here a 10-year-old girl was beaten to death with a stick by her Kalyugi father in a state of intoxication. Officials said the 42-year-old accused tried to flee after the incident, but the police managed to nab him. According to the report, the incident is being reported late on Wednesday (May 4) at Timon Tea Garden under Kakotibari police station. The local people have informed in the statement given to the police that the little girl was beaten with a stick by her father till she died.
According to reports, a Kalyugi father beat his 10-year-old girl child to death with a stick in Silchar. It is being told that he did this after a family dispute. At present, the police has arrested the accused father. A local of Timon tea garden has told that, 'Domestic violence is not a new thing in that house, the man used to beat his wife every day. But, on Wednesday night, in an inebriated state, he attacked his daughter and kept beating her till she died. She kept shouting for help, but by the time the neighbors arrived, it was too late.'
Police said that they received information about the murder and a team left for the tea garden. An officer said, 'Our team recovered the body and the accused was arrested from the nearby area.' Charaideo district's Superintendent of Police (SP) Yuvraj told the media that in the preliminary investigation they found it to be a case of domestic violence, though the matter is being probed.
