Thiruvananthapuram: Bhagirathi Amma, 107, from Kerala, who symbolizes the power and relentless energy of an Indian woman, bid farewell to the world on Thursday night. The President and the Prime Minister have condoled his death. Bhagirathi Amma made headlines after passing the class IV equivalent examination conducted by the Kerala state literacy mission (KSLM) at the age of 105. She had set a record by scoring 205 out of 275 points. In mathematics, she got full marks.

 

 

However, being old, she was having trouble writing. She had completed three questions of environment, mathematics, and Malayalam in three days. He had to drop out at the age of 9 due to family problems. But his passion for studies never disappeared. At the age of 105, she fulfilled his dream. PM Modi had mentioned Amma in his radio program Mann Ki Baat. Amma wanted to pass the 10th examination, but that could not be possible. There are 12 grandchildren in their family. Out of which 6 children and 3 grandchildren are no longer in this world. An example of women empowerment Amma was conferred the Nari Shakti Puraskar by the government.

Expressing grief over his demise, President Ram Nath Kovind wrote that the late Bhagirathi Amma was an inspiration. They showed us that the quest for learning never ends. His knowledge increased with age. I salute his greatness. She was recognized by the Nari Shakti Award. They symbolize the tireless energy of Indian women. PM Modi also tweeted his condolences on Amma's demise.
