Ranchi: Jharkhand has reported an incident of gross negligence amid rising corona virus and restrictions imposed. Even after the State Government ordered closure of schools here, classes were going on secretly in the Navodaya Vidyalaya at Lohardaga. The school going students were tested for corona and found 11 positive, creating a ruckus in the district administration. A total of 19 people including these 11 students were found infected simultaneously in Navodaya Vidyalaya. In the last 2 days, the number of infected people in the school has gone up to 23.

According to reports, classes 10th and 12th were being conducted even after the order to close the school. Seven students and 12 employees were found infected when the teachers and staff were tested for corona with the students on Tuesday. In addition, corona virus was confirmed in four students on Monday as well.

Senior teacher of the same Navodaya Vidyalaya Pradeep Kumar Singh said that classes were going on here only after the directions of navodaya vidyalaya samiti and approval of district administration. However, classes have been closed after corona virus was detected. All the children are being sent home. He said the school is being sensitized by the district administration. Schools have been closed till further orders.
