Mumbai: A minor girl has received death threats for posting a Facebook post to protest the brutal killing of Kanhaiyalal in Rajasthan's Udaipur. The police have registered a case against unknown persons. The case is from Girgaum in south Mumbai. A 16-year-old woman living here had posted about Kanhaiyalal's murder on her Facebook wall a few days ago. Thereafter, she received calls and WhatsApp messages from number 3 late on the night of July 1.
The same callers threatened to kill the minor girl and hurled lewd abuses when she supported Kanhaiyalal. This process of calling and messaging continued for the next several hours. The girl's father then filed a case with the police. On the complaint of the girl's father, the VP Road police registered a case under Sections 506(2) and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
An officer said, "We are trying to trace the culprits and they will be arrested soon.'' According to the report, police also suspect that it could be that the same person is making calls from different numbers. At the same time, he is also trying to find out how the caller got to know the mobile number of the girl. DCP Zone 2 Nilotpal said that the investigation is on.
