A young man has lost his life after being hit by a train near Damoria bridge in Jalandhar. However, later the driver stopped the train and it stood there for about a quarter of an hour. After which the track guard informed the railway authorities about the incident. Eyewitnesses have said that there was more fog in the morning. The young man could not see the train coming. People called out to the young man to stop but before he could understand anything, he was hit by the train.
GRP reached the information and took action under section 174, taking possession of the dead body. The body has been kept in the civil hospital mortuary for 72 hours. During investigation, the police did not find any ticket or identity card from the youth. According to the train driver, the young man was hit by the train while crossing the railway line. GRP in-charge has said that the youth appears to be a migrant labourer. Teams have gone to the factory area taking photos.
A person died after being hit by a train: On the other hand, in Pathankot, a person lost his life after being hit by a train near Buddhinagar railway gate on the Pathankot-Jammuthavi railway section. The deceased could not be identified. GRP has taken possession of the body and kept it in the civil hospital mortuary for identification.
ASI Anil Kumar of GRP post Madhopur has said that in the morning the station master of Sujanpur informed that a person is lying near the track near Buddhinagar. When we reached the spot, we found that the person was dead. The age of the deceased is said to be between 60-65 years. Information about the person was obtained from nearby people but his identity could not be established.
