Dehradun: The Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested two terrorists of Ghazwa-e-Hind from Haridwar with the help of Uttarakhand (STF). According to police sources, the terrorists were roaming around in the festive season in the wake of a major terrorist incident. After the arrest, ats has taken the terrorists to a secret place for questioning.

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar has confirmed the arrest of terrorists in Haridwar. He said that on the basis of confirmed inputs, the STF of Uttarakhand Police had fully cooperated with the Uttar Pradesh ATS to conduct raids in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. DGP Kumar said that after the arrest of the terrorists, the Uttarakhand Police has also come on high alert mode. A search operation will be launched to search for the suspects. DGP Kumar said that the police captains of 13 districts of the state have been specifically asked to be alert as well as conduct search operations. Also, the intelligence agency has also been alerted about the arrest of any suspicious person.

The Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested eight terrorists belonging to the dreaded terror outfit Al Qaeda and its affiliate Bangladeshi outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). All these terrorists were arrested from various cities of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Saharanpur, Shamli and Haridwar due to the operation conducted for the last 3 days. Both organisations were expanding the network to serve the objective of Ghazwa-e-Hind. The ATS, along with its partner agencies and local police, carried out the operation.
