New Delhi: The growing havoc of the corona virus has caused havoc in different parts of the country. There is a lot of demand for Remdesivir injection everywhere in this difficult time. This injection is somewhat relaxing the corona patient and is in high demand in hospitals. In view of the growing demand, the Central Government has approved increase in production of Remdesivir.

So far, Remdesivir used to make 3.8 million vials per month in the country, but now it will be increased to 7.4 million vials per month. A total of 20 new manufacturing sites have been approved by the Central Government. The Union Health Ministry in a statement said that where patients are on oxygen support, they are in dire need of remdesevir. It is being supplied to several states including Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat. The health ministry says production is being increased in view of demand, with its exports already banned.

The Central Government has asked all manufacturers to increase production, as well as to strengthen delivery by staying in touch with states every day. There is shortage of Remdesivir in many states, people are queuing up for hours outside hospitals, medical stores.
