After a meeting recently, the ICC had decided that India is going to host the 2021 T20 World Cup. After the postponement of the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year, it is going to host the tournament of 2022. If India cannot host the T-20 World Cup for the coming year due to Covid-19, then the ICC has kept Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a backup.

There is still 1 year left for this tournament to be held in India. The T-20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year has been postponed for 1 year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the report of the cricket website, Sri Lanka and UAE is being held as a backup venue at the T-20 World Cup 2021.

Any world tournament can have a standard protocol for back up venue. According to the report, the back-up venue for every ICC tournament is set according to standard protocol but this time it has additional significance in view of the corona epidemic. It said, India is the worst affected country by the Covid-19 epidemic. There have been more than 20 lakh cases so far and more than 45000 cases have been known. This is why IPL has to be held in UAE this year. Temporary plans have also been made for the domestic session. No one is ready to speak on this issue from the BCCI, because there is still a lot of time in the tournament.
