Amid the nationwide lockdown, Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb said that people belonging to a contingent of Border Security Force in Dhalai district were found infected with the Novel Coronavirus on Wednesday. The number of infected in Tripura has increased to 64.

Advisory issued to visit India amid Corona infection

After the arrival of 22 people of 138th Battalion positive in Ambassa, the total active cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has increased to 62 in the state. Deb tweeted on Wednesday night, 'Alert! 138-BN BSF 22 people (18 men, 1 woman, 3 children) have been found infected with COVID19. Deb said, 'Total # COVID19 positive cases in Tripura are 64 (2 already discharged, so many active cases: 62), don't panic, the government is acting cautiously.'

Two BSF personnel of 138 Battalion Headquarters at Ambassa in Dhalai District tested positive on 2 May. The next day, 12 more BSF personnel tested positive. On May 4, 13 more tested positive and on May 5, another 13 BSF personnel tested positive for COVID-19. All COVID-19 positive persons are BSF personnel or their family members.
