Jammu: A man who recently attacked a grenade attack on CRPF in Kashmir was acquitted by the court, after which he was released. The prosecution could not produce any evidence against the accused. However, the accused had to wait a long time of 13 years for release. On 24 May 2006, 164 battalions of CRPF were attacked in Budgam. Mushtaq Ahmed living in the Noorbagh area of Srinagar was the main accused in this attack. On Tuesday, the third additional judge of Srinagar District Court, Tasleem Arif, heard the case of Mushtaq Ahmed.

According to the police case, unknown terrorists attacked the CRPF soldiers. The CRPF personnel was doing duty at Kamarwari Chowk, then unknown assailants attacked him. Many CRPF personnel were injured in this attack and some passers-by were also hit by it. Mushtaq's name came up in the investigation of the case, after which he was arrested. After hearing the arguments on both sides, the judge said that the prosecution has failed on every front to prove the charges. He could not produce any such evidence to prove that the accused was involved in the attack. There is no other way than to dismiss this case. Therefore, the court acquits the accused.
