About ten thousand cadre officers of various paramilitary forces are worried about their promotion. These include officers from the rank of Assistant Commandant to IG. Just as in other organized services of the central government, rank or its equivalent salary is received after a certain time, the officers of all central security forces are not getting it. IPS officer becomes IG after nearly twenty years of service, but the cadre officer is able to reach the rank of the commandant at that time. The cadre officer becomes an IG with 33 years of hard work.
