It is believed that Ram Ji killed Bali on the day of Gudi Padwa and protected Sugriva and the subjects from the atrocities of Bali. At the same time, Sugriva gave his monkey army to Ram ji in return and with the help of this army, Ram ji fought the battle with Ravana. This day is also celebrated as Victory Day.
