Patna: A major accident was averted in Hajipur, Bihar. The boat, which was ferrying 250 people across the Ganga, got stuck in the middle river. After that, all the people were stuck in the boat for about 4 hours. Then the rescue operation was carried out and everyone was brought to the shore by safe boat. All the people had gone to attend the fair in Sonepur. According to the news received, a fair is held in Sonepur of Ghazipur. People are coming from far-flung areas to attend the fair. On Wednesday evening, the big boat was going from Sonepur to Patna. It was carrying people from Jehanabad and Arwal.

The same boat was being crossed by 250 people. But, after reaching the middle stream, the boat collided with the mound present in the river. After this, the boat was stuck there. Then, the people in the boat started screaming. Hearing the screams of the people, the police and administration were immediately informed. As soon as the news of the same boat getting stuck, a heavy police force including administrative officers reached the spot. The SDRF team was also informed about the incident. In heavy statistics, all the people were brought to the shore safely through small boats and other boats.

It is being said that the fair going on in Sonepur is considered to be a very big fair. Thousands of people come here every day to visit the fair. People from areas situated on the banks of the Ganga reach here by boat. There are neither life-saving items nor other essentials on the boat. The administration used to make many claims about the safety of the people. But after today's incident, their claims were exposed. Thankfully, everyone was rescued in time, otherwise, there would have been a major accident.
