New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday (November 9) told senior army commanders that they should prepare for action in case of any contingency and this preparation should be at a high level. Rajnath Singh also praised the Army for ensuring security and national sovereignty at the Army Commanders' Conference. He said that he has full faith in the Indian Army and its leadership. We must be prepared for operational contingencies.
Rajnath Singh lauded the army's role in protecting its borders and providing assistance to the civil administration besides fighting terrorism. He also lauded the army's efforts in developing specific technologies in collaboration with civil industries, including premier educational institutions, and progress towards self-reliance. The military commanders' conference will continue till November 11. During this time, the top leadership of the Army will brainstorm on the aspects of the current security scenario and challenges to the current security system.
On the other hand, amid the ongoing tension with Taiwan, Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered his army to fight the war, be prepared to win and increase capacity, saying that the risk of instability in front of the country's national security is increasing. However, Jinping did not name any country in the address. According to an Australian media report, Xi Jinping went to visit the Joint Operations Command Center of a Central Military Commission in Beijing on Tuesday.
