30% BSF's deaths caused by heart attacks & road accidents

New Delhi: Border Security Force (BSF) has found that heart sickness or road accidents account for almost 30% of deaths of its personnel a year.

On Sunday, in Jaisalmer,K K Sharma, the BSF director general, in a contact with throng with the International Border (IB),questioned them to adopt healthy lifestyle and drive safety.

He said, “ figures showed that out of about 400 deaths taking place in a year in the country's largest border guarding force, 70 were because of heart attacks and about 50 due to vehicular accidents”

As per the senior official, "The DG emphasised on the use of technology for effective domination and border management. He said a trial is undergoing on a 5-km patch along the IB in Punjab and Jammu border... by using smart gadgets,"
