One month after being hospitalized in the emergency department, a man who spearheaded efforts in his Central Texas town in the US state opposing mask-wearing and other preventative measures during the coronavirus epidemic died of COVID-19.

US resident Caleb Wallace died on Saturday, according to his wife Jessica Wallace's statement on a GoFundMe website where she had been giving updates on his condition. He was 30 years old and the father of three children when he was killed. His fourth kid is on the way, thanks to his wife's pregnancy. Jessica Wallace wrote “Caleb has peacefully passed on. He will forever live in our hearts and minds.” Earlier, in July 2020, Caleb Wallace helped organize “The Freedom Rally” in San Angelo, Texas, US where people at the event carried signs that criticized the wearing of masks, business closures, the science behind COVID-19, and liberal media. Jessica Wallace informed the newspaper that her husband started showing signs of COVID-19 on July 26 but refused to get tested or go to the hospital. Instead, he took large dosages of Vitamin C, zinc aspirin, and ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug that health experts have advised against using for COVID-19.

US man Caleb Wallace was brought to the ER on July 30 and had been unconscious and on a ventilator since August 8. Jessica Wallace had written on the family's GoFundMe page the day before his death that her husband "was a flawed guy but he loved his family and his young kids more than anything." “To those who hoped for his death, I apologize if his beliefs and opinions offended you,” she continued, I hoped he'd have a fresh perspective and greater respect for life as a result of this. I can't say anything more since I'm not authorized to talk to him.
