Lucknow: The impact of the ongoing Western Disturbance in the country on Sunday caused heavy havoc in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorms and rain caused havoc in the state that 46 people lost their lives. Other crops including fruits and vegetables were damaged. More than 50 people were injured.

It is being told that 6 people died in Agra, 4 in Moradabad, 3 in Varanasi, 2-2 in Chitrakoot and Baghpat, one each in Fatehpur, Etawah, Kannauj and Kanpur countryside. Due to the storm, the power supply has been disrupted in many districts due to breaking of poles and wires. There is also news of falling trees in many parts. The CM of the state Yogi Adityanath has instructed the District Magistrates of all the districts to provide compensation of Rs 4-4 lakh to the families of those who died during the rain.

It was informed by tweeting from the official Twitter handle of the CMO of Uttar Pradesh that people have died in Fatehpur and Ballia due to celestial lightning. Wishing the peace of the departed souls, CM Yogi Adityanath has asked the DMs of the districts to give a compensation of Rs 4-4 lakh to the families of the deceased.
