As India's wait for another medal recapitulates since Mirabai Chanu started India's journey at Tokyo Olympics on a hopeful note by winning silver on Day 1, the India team has shown a strong show at the World Cadet Championships in Budapest, Hungary.  

Praising the athletes Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian contingent in Budapest and also informed about India's medal tally at the tournament.  

Let us tell you that earlier on Sunday, Indian wrestler Priya Malik clinched gold at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships on Sunday. Malik defeated Kseniya Patapovich 5-0 in the summit clash and as a result, she won a gold medal at the World Cadet Championships in Hungary. Earlier, Mirabai Chanu clinched the country?s first weightlifting silver on Day first. The wrestler also ended India?s 21-year halt for a weightlifting medal at the Olympics.
