Black fungus wreaks havoc amid corona, 5500 cases registered across country

New Delhi: Black fungus cases have suddenly increased in the country in the last 10 days. In fact, fungal infections Black Fungus or mucormycosis affected nearly 5,500 people across the country on Wednesday, killing 126 of them. Even in many states amphotericin B, anti-fungal drug is facing a huge shortage.

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya said that in view of the increasing number of cases of infection, the Ministry has approved the production of anti-fungal injections. Earlier 5 companies in the country used to produce about 3 lakh 80 thousand oils of Amphotericin B, now 6 new companies have been approved by the Ministry for production of this injection while the Central Government has decided to import 6 lakh oil from other countries all over the world, it has started coming to the country from today itself So far, 50,000 injections have arrived in India. Other countries are also talking through diplomatic channels to import injections.

There is also talk with Air India to ensure that there is no problem in imports. Companies that have been approved for injection production will soon start their production. The government will help these companies get the required raw material and API imported from abroad.
