Mumbai: ASHA workers in Maharashtra have gone on indefinite strike. In fact, their strike is due to non-increase in salary. They are disappointed with the non-increase in salary and that is why all ASHA workers have taken this decision. About 65,000 ASHA workers are said to be involved in the strike. Now asha workers have demanded that their salaries be increased. Let us also tell all of you that ASHA workers get a salary of Rs. 1,650 per month.

According to the rules, they have to work only 5 hours a day, although they have to work for 7 to 8 hours during corona infection. That is why they want an increase in salary. Last year, ASHA workers were assured that their salaries would be increased. In the assurance given to him, it was said that his salary would be increased from Rs.1650 to Rs.4000 per month, though nothing like this has happened so far.

Let us tell all of you that at the time of the first wave of corona, ASHA workers used to get Rs.300 extra per day in addition to their salaries and this continued for only six months and then it was discontinued. Let us also tell you that ASHA workers have to go door to door and conduct a survey related to covid. Not only that, they have to take care of home isolation patients and also put on duty to help in the covid testing camp.
