Lucknow: A search is on for the occupants of the trolley that fell into the river after breaking the railing in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (August 27) evening. The search operation, which began on Saturday, went on throughout the night and continued till morning. The bodies of Amit and Majhile alias Narendra, about one and a half km from the bridge, have also been recovered. So far, NDRF has recovered 8 bodies and search operations are still on.  

Around 20 people were present on the tractor trolley that fell into the river on Saturday afternoon. According to the police administration, many people were reported missing. Apart from the local divers, NDRF and SDRF were engaged to find them. On Saturday evening, the first body was found of tractor driver Mukesh, followed by one at midnight and one in the morning. By 10 am on Sunday, the bodies of eight people were recovered.

Some bodies were found near the bridge, some one and a half km away, apart from the six missing people, two more bodies were found about one and a half km away. It is being told that he was not missing from this tractor-trolley because the villagers could not identify him. The search operation is going on overnight under the leadership of District Magistrate Avinash Kumar and SP Rajesh Dwivedi. Two teams of NDRF and SDRF continued to search the river. BJP district president Saurabh Mishra reached the spot. He met the victims and assured them that they would provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
