  • Tourism in India support over 40 millions jobs. The sector is predict ro grow of 7.9 percent till 2023 making India the third fatest growing tourism destination over next decade.
  • About 22.57 million tourists arrived in India in 2014, compared to 19.95 million in 2013.
  • In 2014, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh were the most popular states for tourists.
  • The 2011 Kumbh Mela was the largest gathering of people with over 75 million pilgrims.The gathering was so huge that the crowd was visible from space.
  • India has the largest postal network in the world with over 1, 55,015 post offices.post office on an average serves a population of 7,175 people.
