At least 288 people have lost their lives in a train accident in Odisha's Balasore district on Friday. Even after 110 hours of the accident, 83 bodies have not yet been identified. The 205 bodies that have been identified have been handed over to their families. In order to identify the remaining bodies, The Indian Railways helped the common people by advertising in newspapers. Railways have appealed to spread this message to as many people as possible, so that the family can identify their loved ones. 

Photos released on the website: Indian Railways has put photos of dead bodies on the website www.srcodisha.nic.in. In these pictures, the dead bodies have been given body numbers-1, 2, 3...151, 152..288. However, the magnitude of the accident is clearly visible in the pictures. The dead bodies are looking badly mutilated.

Railways sought help from people: Railways has also appealed by giving advertisements in newspapers that Odisha has come forward in reuniting the victims of the train accident with their families. Helpline numbers (139, 1929, 1800-3450061) have also been issued in this advertisement. Along with this, all the information related to the accident has been given on the website www.osdma.org. The information of the injured who are undergoing treatment has been uploaded on www.bmc.gov.in.
