Kabul: After capturing Afghanistan, the Taliban raided closed Indian consulates in Kandahar and Herat province on Wednesday (August 18, 2021). According to reports, the Taliban, a terror group, conducted searches inside consulates and seized vehicles parked there. Taliban militants searched the cupboard for information about Afghans working for NDS the state-run intelligence agency. However, there is no information about what is happening to the embassy in Jalalabad and Kabul.

Reports from Kandahar revealed that the Taliban broke the locks of the Indian consulate to enter the premises. At the same time, they carried diplomatic vehicles parked there with them. India has four consulates in Afghanistan. One each is in Kabul, Kandahar, Herat and Mazar-e-Sharif. In Afghanistan, the Taliban is constantly oppressing the minority Hazara community there. Human rights group Amnesty International has said that nine people belonging to the Hazara minority community were killed by the Taliban in Ghazni province after they were tortured.

Amnesty International spoke to several people who witnessed the brutal killings in Mundarakht village of Malistan district between July 4 and July 5. The report said that six thousand men were shot dead. Three of them were tortured. Hazara shias are Muslims.
