Lucknow: The retired Dalit sub-inspector of PAC who was attacked with a shovel in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has died during treatment in the hospital. Heart-wrenching CCTV footage of the attack has also come to the fore, in which the accused named Zarif Ansari is seen indiscriminately attacking retired sub-inspector Garib Das in broad daylight with a shovel. As per the report, the attack was carried out on 18 May 2023. Zarif Ansari surrendered after the attack. 

It is seen in the CCTV that he keeps attacking the retired inspector with a shovel till the poor slave falls down unconscious. The incident is of Sikheda village of Muzaffarnagar. Zarif suddenly started attacking the retired constable sitting at a shop with a shovel. The entire incident of the attack was recorded in the CCTV camera installed near the shop. Its video is becoming increasingly viral on social media. It can be seen in the video that, in 17 seconds, Zarif attacked retired inspector Garibdas 9 times. Even after falling, Ansari kept hitting his neck and head.

Badly injured in this attack, the local people somehow took Garibdas to the hospital. From where he was referred to Meerut due to his critical condition. Then was taken from Meerut to Delhi. It is being told that the retired inspector had serious injuries on his head and neck, so he could not be saved. Whereas, the murderer Zarif Ansari surrendered in the police station and accepted his crime. In interrogation with the police, Zarif has told that Garib Das had an illicit relationship with his wife. So he attacked. The police suspect the involvement of more people in the murder. One person has been taken into custody in this case, while a search is on. On the basis of the complaint given by the family members of Garibdas, the police have started the investigation by registering a case.
