Thala Ajith starrer Mankatha, one of the most popular films of Kollywood so far, is directed by Venkat Prabhu. In the film, Ajith was in a gray shade, and had Trisha as the lead lady. Premgi Amren, Rai Laxmi, Vaibhav Reddy, Anjali, Ashwin Kakmanu and Mahat Raghavendra appeared to play the lead supporting roles, while the action king Arjun played a key role in the film.
Today, the film has been 9 years old, with Ashwin Kakmanu sharing a BTS photo, in which director Venkat Prabhu can be seen narrating a scene with Thala Ajith, while Ashwin Kakamanu can be seen standing next to him. Sharing this, he wrote on his Twitter, "Here's a throwback on the occasion of #9YearsofMankatha ! I believe this was rehearsal taken sometime around Vinayak Mahadev's phone conversation with ACP Prithvi on the train. I look like a time traveler from 2020 in this. ????."
Meanwhile, news about the sequel of the film comes from time to time. A few months ago, reports about the sequel to the film started growing, and since then, reports about the sequel have been steadily coming. In an interview, director Venkat Prabhu said that the sequel will happen when Thala Ajit shakes his head. Ashwin Kakumanu will next be seen in Mani Ratnam's Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan. Now everyone is eagerly waiting for the sequel of the film.
