IMA claims, '93 doctors lost their lives while fighting battle with Corona'

New Delhi: At least 93 doctors of the country have lost their lives in the war against the global coronavirus. The Indian Medical Association (IMA), a doctor's organization, has said that these doctors, who died due to corona, were infected with the corona while on duty or were hit by corona due to other reasons.

IMA Chief Dr. Rajan Sharma while talking to the media said that according to the latest data so far, 93 doctors have died, while 1279 doctors have been infected. Of the infected doctors, 771 are under 35 years of age, while 247 are doctors whose age is more than 35 years. There are 261 doctors who are infected with corona and their age is more than 50 years. It is noteworthy that data of nurses and other health workers have not been added to these figures of infection.

Dr. Rajan Sharma said that his organization is preparing a research paper on the death of doctors from Corona. In which the cause and circumstances of the death of doctors will be studied. He said that efforts are being made to find out how many doctors died during general practice, how many doctors were in the resident category, all these figures are being studied. IMA's Kochi branch president Dr. Rajiv Jayadevan is also collecting data on the deaths and causes of doctors due to coronavirus. Dr. Jaidevan claims that from April 8 to July 9, 108 doctors have died due to corona.
