One of the popular software called Kaspersky security has been banned in all federal offices of the US on Wednesday. The reason behind this software banning is that the Russian company has the risky ties with Russian intelligence that can be harmful to the US national security.

The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Elaine Duke ordered to remove this software in the time period of 90 days.

"The department is concerned about the ties between certain Kaspersky officials and Russian intelligence and other government agencies," Duke said in a statement.

"The risk that the Russian government, whether acting on its own or in collaboration with Kaspersky, could capitalize on access provided by Kaspersky products to compromise federal information and information systems directly implicates US national security," Duke further said.

Prior to this six top intelligence and security officials told in a congressional hearing that they would not use Kaspersky software anymore. In July Government's general services administration also issued an advisory against using it.
