SIGNIFICANCE OF INTERNATIONAL NELSON MANDELA DAY

 

Ever year 18 July, is celebrated as the Nelson Mandela day in the honour of Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson, Mandela. National Mandela was a South African who served the country as President from the year 1944 to 1999. He was also served as the political leader, anti-apartheid revolutionary and Philanthropist. In the honour of this great personality, United nation declared 18th July as the International National Mandela day.

The National Mandela foundation and 46664 concerts invited the people to join them to make an official Mandela day. It is celebrated as an occasion to take strong steps to achieve better changes. The main message of the campaign of Mandela Day is that ‘Nelson Mandela fought for 67 years for Social Justice and we are asking you to start it with 67 Minutes. The main objective of this day is to Take steps to gain the positive changes even for 67 minutes. It is an attempt to continue the motive of the Nelson Mandela to fight against poverty and foster peace in order to make the world a better place to live.

The Nelson Mandela day is the best day to call global people to celebrate the thought that every individual has the power to make a difference in the world. Finally, The International day was celebrated on 18 July 2009 on the occasion of his 91st birthday of Nelson Mandela.
