Delhi police arrest Mayank Singhvi in Anissia Batra suicide case

Anissia Batra was a 39 years old air hostess who ended her life on the 13th of July. On Monday the South Delhi police arrested her husband, Mayank Singhvi. The accused shall be presented before the court on Tuesday. 

Sources revealed that the air hostess jumped from the 4th floor of her apartment, situated in Panchsheel Park, South Delhi and ended her life. The case about the same has been filed under section 304B of the Indian Penal Code at the Hauz Khas police station. section 304B considers cases of suicide due to deaths caused due to dowry.

The family members of Anissia have also claimed that her husband, MAnissia'ayank is responsible for her suicide. Anissia's brother Karan Batra revealed that the air hostess sent several text messages to him before she committed suicide. Her family also complained that their daughter was abused and harassed by her husband and her in-laws. They forced her to take such a step. 

Anissia's father is a retired Major General of the Army. He filed a complaint regarding the torture that his daughter was made to face, the previous month. 

The investigations revealed that the 39 years old lady committed suicide after having an argument with her husband, Mayank. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, Romil Bania informed that the police had received phone calls from the hospital that she was taken to on Friday.
