Recently, Ekta Kapoor had announced that she will be going back to her earlier days with her new show. In her announcement the ace producer has stated that the show will be purely a family drama. As per the reports, the show will be based on KJo's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The blockbuster movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Jaya Bachchan. 

Now leading to the reports mentioned in Pinkvilla, a source has informed that Bijoy Anand, who played Kajol’s stubborn fiancé in the 1998 film Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, has been cast to play Amitabh Bachchan’s role as Yashvardhan Raichand in the show. While Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi fame Erica Fernandes is in talks to play either Kajol’s talkative Anjali or her younger sister, Pooja by Kareena Kapoor Khan.

In her tweet, Ekta Kapoor wrote, “A family soap after years !!! Mostly done love stories recently with d backdrop of family!! This soap will air on SONY ...a family that eats together stays together NOOOO a family that accepts each other stays together.” 

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor is also rebooting her iconic show, Kasauti Zindagii Kay. During an interview, when asked about her views on bringing back her own show in a completely new package, she said that the story of Kasauti is like a old wine, everyone today is facing the same thing like the plot of the story. The story is old and now as the new era begins the social stigmas change, widow marriage is no longer a stigma today or divorces for that matter, so once that stigma goes and social acceptability comes.​
