A collective effort with both bat and ball helped Zimbabwe secure a comfortable 89-run win against Hong Kong at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The victory was Zimbabwe's third in as many games, lifting them to the top spot of the Group B table, courtesy a better NRR than Scotland who also have six points. Both Zimbabwe and Scotland have qualified for the Super Sixes from Group B. After winning the toss and elected to bat first, the hosts got off to a good start with the openers adding 53 runs of which was scored by Cephas Zhuwawo in a breezy 25-ball knock that included three sixes and six fours. Hamilton Masakadza then put on good stands with Solomon Mire and Brendan Taylor to help Zimbabwe make good progress. At 212 for 3 in the 36th over, Zimbabwe were looking good for a 300-plus total but Ehsan Nawaz struck at regular intervals, picking up a four-wicket haul to keep the home team to 263 runs for 9 wickets. Hong Kong were reduced to 35 for 3 in the chase before Anshuman Rath and Scott McKechnie steadied the proceedings with a 59-run stand. However, a collapse ensued as Hong Kong lost four wickets for only 13 runs and couldn't recover from that. Rath scored a fighting 85 but didn't receive much support from the other end and became the final wicket to fall as Hong Kong were bowled out for 174 to suffer their second loss in three matches.

Brief scores: Zimbabwe 263/9 in 50 overs (Hamilton Masakadza 84, Brendan Taylor 46; Ehsan Nawaz 4-47) beat Hong Kong 174 in 46.5 overs (Anshuman Rath 85; Sikandar Raza 3-30, Kyle Jarvis 2-20) by 89 runs.
