The 19th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards are being hosted in Bangkok. On Sunday, the IIFA paid a humble tribute to the late veteran actor Shashi Kapoor for his tremendous contribution to the Indian cinema.
 The very enthusiastic Father-son duo Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor reached the stage and accepted the award on behalf of Ranbir's Grandfather Shashi Kapoor. Shashi Kapoor bid his final goodbye to the world in December 2017 at the age of 79 since he suffered from a liver failure.
Rishi Kapoor expressed his gratitude towards the IIFA committee and asserted, "Thank you for honouring Shashi Kapoor with his award. It's a moment of pride for us."
Shashi Kapoor started his Bollywood career with the movie 'Dharmputra' (1961) as a child artist.
He was known across the country for his super charming looks and a heart-robbing smile. Shashi Kapoor earned a global recognition for himself by associating with the international cinema. He has also been awarded by the government of India with the Padma Bhushan which is the third highest civilian honour in the year 2011.
Apart from him, the IIFA Awards 2018 also accoladed the extremely talented actor Anupam Kher for his participation in the welfare of the Indian cinema.
The extremely dashing Anil Kapoor addressed the IIFA and referred to Kher as his biggest confidante and the best actor in India today.
Anupam expressed his heartfelt gratitude and said,"I feel I have just started, you decide your own demand."
He dedicated his award to all those people in Bollywood who do not have godfathers in the industry and to his mother.
The show was hosted by the renowned director Karan Johar and the very talented Riteish Deshmukh.
