Iran Prez Rouhani to Meet PM Modi and President Kovind in India on Feb 17

New Delhi [India], Feb 14 (NT): From Persian Gulf nation The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani will pay a state visit to India at the invitation of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi from February 15 to 17, the press release from the website of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Wednesday.

President Rouhani will be accorded a ceremonial reception on February 17 and then he will call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Modi.

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will travel to India on February 15,” the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) said. The visiting   Iranian Prez will deliver a special address at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) on Saturday.

During the visit of the President Rouhani, both nations would review the progress achieved in bilateral relations and also exchange views on regional and international issues of communal interest. In addition with his official engagements in Delhi, President Rouhani will also visit Hyderabad.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Modi had visited Iran in May 2016.Ahead of PM‘s maiden visit to Iran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had enhanced connectivity, trade, investment and energy ties with the Persian Gulf nation as PM  Modi held talks with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and its President Hassan Rouhani.
