The Supreme Court has given a relieve to Jaypee Associates Limited (JAL) till January 25 to deposit Rs 125 crore. Earlier, the court had ordered to deposit this money in the Supreme Court registry by December 31. Under the order, till December 14, Rs 150 crore was deposited, which had been deposited by the company. 

Jai Prakash Associates Ltd has so far deposited Rs 425 crores in the apex court registry and to deposit Rs 125 crores by December 31. This company wanted two months' time for this.

While hearing the case, the Supreme Court warned that if the order was not followed then it would be under the contempt of court. The next hearing of the case will be on February one. In the previous hearing, the Supreme Court had banned the sale of the assets of the directors of Jaypee Associates stranded in the case of investing in the second project and not alloting the flat on time. 

The court had ordered the group to deposit Rs 150 crore on December 14 and Rs 125 crore on December 31. In addition, the amount of Rs 275 crore deposited by Jaypee Associates was accepted. 
 

A three-member bench of Chief Justice Deepak Mishra, Justice AM Khanvilkar and Justice DV Chandrachud has frozen the private property of all the 13 directors. Without the court order, these people will not be able to sell their property. Not only this, the family members of the directors will not be able to sell their property.

The court had also stayed on the foreign travel of the directors and directors of Jaypee Infratech Limited without prior permission on January 13. The court had ordered Jaypee Infratech Limited to hand over all records to the Interim Resolution Professional so that it could draft a proposal, indicating that it protects the interests of buyers and debtors of over 32,000 houses. 

The Supreme court has said that in spite of the orders, the investors will try to sell their property, a criminal case will run against them. In the hearing on November 13, the court asked the Jaypee Group to return Rs 2,000 crore of investors' plan. Apart from this, on November 22, all the directors were ordered to be present at the court individually.
