BEIJING/SEOUL: Two world pioneers Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping met to talk about different worldwide issues. China said on Wednesday it won a vow from North Korean Supremo Kim Jong-un to denuclearise the Korean landmass amid a gathering with President Xi Jinping, who promised in kind that China would maintain its kinship with its secluded neighbour.

Following two days of rumours, China reported on Wednesday that Kim had gone to Beijing and met Xi amid what the authority Xinhua news office called an informal visit from Sunday to Wednesday.

The outing was Kim's first known voyage abroad since he came power in 2011 and is accepted by examiners to fill in as the arrangement for up and coming summits with South Korea and the United States.

"It is our consistent stand to be committed to denuclearization on the peninsula, in accordance with the will of late President Kim Il Sung and late General Secretary Kim Jong Il," Kim Jong-un asserted, according to Xinhua.

North Korea is keen to talk with the United States and hold a summit between both countries, he stated.

"The issue of denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula can be resolved, if South Korea and the United States respond to our efforts with goodwill, create an atmosphere of peace and stability while taking progressive and synchronous measures for the realisation of peace," Kim said.

Beijing has customarily been the nearest partner of shrouded North Korea, yet ties have been frayed by North Korea's quest for atomic weapons and China's support of extreme UN authorizes accordingly.
