On Thursday, India's wrestler Rahul Aware wins gold in men's Freestyle 57 kg wrestling. India's Rahul Aware defeated Canada's Steven Takahashi in men's Freestyle 57kg in a Gold medal match. India hold 13 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 9 bronze medals. India are now on the third position of the medal tally. India captured total of 28 medals in eight day time. Rahul Aware defeats Steven Takahashi 15-7 in men's 57kg freestyle. That's a second medal in wrestling today for India after Babita Kumari's silver finish earlier in the day. India add a third medal in wrestling as Kiran beats Katouskia Pariadhaven on technical superiority. She takes bronze in the women's freestyle 76 kg.

Indian wrestlers 57 Kg categories Rahul Aware and Sushil Kumar entered the finals of their respective categories in the men's freestyle competition at the 21st Commonwealth Games (CWG). Rahul Aware, appearing in his first CWG in the men's 57 kilogram category, did well to qualify for the summit clash in style. He did face some trouble from a spirited Muhammed Bilal of Pakistan in the semi-finals before taking a thrilling 10-8 victory. He will meet Steven Takahashi of Canada in the final. The Canadian defeated Ebikewenimo Welson of Nigeria in the other semi-final. Rahul's semi-final was a thrilling contest at Bilal came up with a spirited performance. Rahul clinches gold for India after defeated Canadian Steven Takahashi in freestyle.
