Morris and Olivier added to Proteas test squad against Aussie

Proteas all-rounder Chris Morris and fast bowler Duanne Olivier have been added to South Africa's Test squad for the two remaining Tests against Australia. The two new additions take the squad size to 17, although Cricket South Africa plan to release those not playing a part in the Cape Town Test to play for their franchises in the domestic Sunfoil Series.

Chris Morris and Olivier haven't played Test cricket in 2018 as yet. While Morris was in the squad for the India Tests, he failed to make it to the playing eleven in any of the three games. His last appearance in the South African whites came during against at The Oval in July 2017. Olivier featured in the home series against Bangladesh and impressed in a tour game against the visiting Australians ahead of the ongoing series, claiming 4 for 74 at Benoni.

The four-match Test series is locked 1-1, with the two remaining games scheduled to be played at Cape Town and Johannesburg. Good sign for Proteas is AB de Villers form, who played magnificent 126 not out in the previous test. Meanwhile, Dale Steyn continues to remain out of the squad having not played a competitive game since picking up a heel injury during the New Year's Test against India at Cape Town.
