P. Chidambaram, former Union Finance Minister of India previously was in controversy due to his son now one of his family members was killed by three man after his abduction. C. Shivamurthy, aged 47, is the son-in-law of Chidambaram's sister-in-law.

When his family found him missing they filed a complaint about the same on 25th June at Tirupur police station. The family informed that he had left home on Monday in his luxury sedan while saying that he was going to Coimbatore to meet Vimal, a garment agent who called him to meet a buyer at Kotagiri. After an update, Coimbatore police traced victim’s car around midnight by GPRS tracker that was fitted in his car at the nearby area of Vellore.

After executing police patrolling at all National Highways, the murderers caught with the car at Vengili. In the investigation, the culprits revealed that after abducting Shivamurthy from Tirupur, they took him to Mettupalayam near Coimbatore on Monday and then killed him. Police informed that the body was dumped in a lake near Hosur Krishnagiri district after the murder. Police traced the dead body on Wednesday according to the information shared by the trio.

Gouthaman, Vimal and Manibharathi of Coimbatore are the three accused who exposed off another person’s details who was involved in the crime. Police caught the fourth one, K. Moorthy, 37, from Thekkampatti.
