Uttarakhand Government announced three day state mourning in the state ahead of Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, ND Tiwari death .During this period the national flag will be flown at half mast in all govt offices throughout the state. No official function will be organised in the state.

Worth mention here, ND Tiwari died today after a prolonged illness. He was 93 years old. ND Tiwari breathed last lat Max Hospital in Saket, Delhi this afternoon. According to the information, Tiwari's kidney had failed and she was suffering from stomach infection.

Narayan Dutt Tiwari was a big leader of the Congress, although for the last several years he was not active in politics. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat tweeted the death of ND Tiwari. ND Tiwari was the first leader to be Chief Minister of two states. He was chief minister of Uttar Pradesh three times. He took over the reign of UP from 1976 to 1977, 1985 to 1985 and from 1988 to 1989. From 2002 to 2007, he was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He was also the Central Minister of Foreign Affairs from Rajiv Gandhi's reign from 1986 to 1987. Tiwari was also the Governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2007 to 2009.
